Adult Integral Hatha Yoga for Beginners

Kami teaches classes in the Integral Hatha Yoga style. In the beginners class, students become comfortable with sun salutations, backward and forward bends, spinal twist, shoulder stands and inversions. Students will experience deep relaxation, pranayama and meditation. These practices will lead to the eternal peace within each individual that is accessed by learning to quiet the mind.

This class focuses on four areas:
  • asanas (physical postures)
  • pranayama (breath control)
  • relaxation
  • kriyas (cleansing practices)
Candles burning.

Beginners find value in first class. Words from Sue...

"Just like any new class, I initially looked forward to Yoga with mixed emotions," writes Sue of her experiences following her first series of classes. "The whole experience (the fellow attendees, the atmosphere, Kami herself, and even the stretching and balancing) was so enjoyable that I ended up eagerly anticipating each class. Because I am not in particularly good shape, some of the exercises were difficult for me but I never felt bad about it---I was too busy learning and trying and laughing. Each class was designed not only for the body but also for the soul. During the final relaxation exercise, Kami's voice led me to place of peace, kind of like being in an hypnotic state. That state of mind stayed with me all evening and each Monday night (after our class) I slept wonderfully."
